Nutritionist Nuria Dianova called plant foods an important component of the diet of centenarians. She spoke about this in an interview with the radio station “Moscow Speaks.”
The specialist referred to studies that identified the so-called blue zones – regions with the longest life expectancy. Dianova noted that the menu of residents of these places is dominated by plant-based products.
“They have a lot of plant proteins, fats and fiber,” she said.
The specialist emphasized that centenarians regularly consume soaked legumes, such like peanuts, and adhere to a moderate diet.
Dianova also mentioned that centenarians usually drink wine in moderation.
“It is not recommended to drink wine more than once a week,” – she added.
Dr. Lebedeva recently listed available foods to increase stamina.
